OUR ROOTS
Rose Charity Estate Vineyard has been created by the Wilkinsons, a first generation wine making family, based in Hampshire. Originally as the ancient capital of England, the area around Winchester has for centuries been sought out for having the purest and most abundant chalk streams across the land.
Tom and his family are combining the unique geographical advantage that their location gives them, coupled with a hands-on viticulture ethos and the latest hybrid vine techniques, to produce truly exceptional grapes.
Following two years of research and study, the two hybrid varieties of Calardis Blanc (white) and Pinotin (red), have been selected. Following a long period of forensic analysis, trial and error, these two vines were successfully hybridised to cater to the precise type of terroir (soil conditions and weather) of Rose Charity Vineyard. They are sourced from the Freytag family in Germany, whose sole purpose is to nurse these hybrid varieties to the highest quality.
Each of the 1000 vines that cover this unique terroir are being nurtured purely by hand by the Wilkinson family themselves. They are looking forward to sharing with you an outstanding first vintage of up to 2,500 bottles in 2026.
